Orphan Care Ministry

We reach Frederick for Christ by partnering with the local Department of Social Services to care for orphans and vulnerable children in Frederick County and to minister to those who do so by:

- Providing child care for foster parents (requires simple, free background check).

- Preparing meals for foster parents when they receive a new placement.

- Mentoring a transitioning youth.

- Becoming a foster parent.

- Hosting special events for foster parents and their children.

New Horizons for Children offers 5-to-6 week hosting opportunities in the winter or summer for families to open their hearts and homes to orphaned and orphans & refugees.

Hosting is like bringing the mission field to you and provides your family the opportunity to be a witness for Christ; it gives the child the chance to experience the love of a family. Many families from MVCC have participated in this program over the past few years and they would agree it is a great program that offers many rewards to the host child and the host families. Partial grants are available.
